Typewritten and bound transcript of an interview conducted by Michael Van Wagenen for the World War II Homefront Oral History Project of the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 15 June 1992. Bartschi talks about growing up on a ranch in Idaho. He also describes his life during World War II, including memories of Pearl Harbor, rationing, shortages, prejudices, holidays, and the end of the war. He also mentions President Roosevelt's death.
